GIGI + LUCA PET BOUTIQUE TO OFFER RESCUE PETS
AS PART OF ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

(Lighthouse Point, Fla.) – Pedigree pet owners and rescue pet advocates typically are as opposed to each other as Republicans and Democrats. The owners of Gigi + Luca, an exclusive pet boutique in Lighthouse Point, however, hope to win over all pet lovers. During the month of May, as part of the store’s fifth anniversary, rescue dogs will be on display and ready for adoption in the store’s front window. An adoption fee applies, but a major portion of the proceeds will be donated to Animal Aid, a no-kill animal shelter in Boca Raton, Fla.
“We are passionate animal lovers just like anyone else,” said Elisabeth Correa, who with her husband, David, own the store named after their own two dogs. “My family wants to do what we can to help all kinds of pets find good homes.”
As soon as each dog is adopted another one will be selected from Animal Aid for adoption at Gigi + Luca.
“Not everyone is comfortable visiting an animal shelter and we are a little off the beaten path,” said Tamera Gibson, president and managing director of the nonprofit Animal Aid. “We appreciate Gigi + Luca Pet Boutique giving us the opportunity to give some of our dogs an even better chance of finding good homes.”
Animal Aid, which was founded in 2001, has arranged adoptions for an average of 1,000 cats and dogs every year since 2004. The shelter takes in emergency, abuse and neglect cases as well as dogs and cats from various animal control agencies in Palm Beach, Dade and Broward Counties in South Florida.
